This is our presentation in a gif. After making the business as a group I think it has been successful and that it could have potential for our futures. As I am the finance officer and productions manager I have to find the manufacturers and work out the different expense we would face making our own business. We each have our own role in the business which evens the workload out, being the designer also made it a lot more fun.

These are the company costs simplified down into a table to it is easier to understand. We hit a huge wall today as we realised we were not going to be making back what we thought we would. After a big debate we came to conclusion to not get a studio but to work from home for the first year to cut the costs down and make more of a profit. The expenses have been brought right down as we are working from home, however this still leaves us with a small profit. After we discussed this we agreed that if it were a real business the first year would just be getting out foot in the door and establishing ourselves with a fan base enough to make consistent money. After that we would consider taking the next step and actually renting a studio to develop our business further. From the total profit we would each receive £5,570, this depends entirely on how many we sell, how successful we get and if certain designs sell more than others. We decided that because the profit is such a small amount the first year we would have to get other jobs to be able to pay for living.

I started out by using the colours from a previous project and creating shapes with the colours. I wanted to see what different effects I could get as all of the colour are vibrant and contrast with one and another it makes a groovy pattern when I tried a more wavy pattern.

Another experiment I tried was using a different colour scheme from a previous design and to see what I could achieve with that. Unfortunately I do not think it is one of my strongest designs so I will not be developing it further however I do think it would be good to see what its like mocked up on a cushion or tote bag.

These three designs are my strongest experiments. Again I used colours from a previous design which I think works extremely well. As i've just got illustrator on my laptop I wanted to try see what new shapes and gradients I could create and if it would be beneficial to develop them further and mock them onto cushions or tote bags.

Here are the designs mocked up onto the cushions and tote bags. I am very pleased with how they have turned out and think mocking them up has let me get a better idea of how it will look. I need to have a meeting with my colleagues so we can discuss which design to take further.

I did a bit of research into getting creative cloud for everyone in the business. I found that to get Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign licences for our computers it would be £66.69 a month or £800.28 upfront. This is something we could discuss further when coming to decide how many computers we need and who needs a licence. If other programmes are needed to be purchased that is also something we need to consider in the long run, it may be beneficial to buy the full creative cloud but that would run the cost right up and may not fit our budget plan.

This a website that sells notebooks. I need to email them and find out if they distribute notebooks in large quantities. They seem to sell good quality bound notebooks which we could print on ourselves using the screen print however this may be an issue when it comes to finances. The notebook however comes in various colours with different types of pages inside.
